Through LEAD, you will have the opportunity to serve the campus by having a leadership role at the Wesley. Whether you are interested in playing an instrument on the worship team, leading a Fusion Bible Study, putting on large-scale events, or helping people get plugged in through our guest care team, there is a place for everyone to serve.
We believe great community happens best in small groups of 15-20 students living life together. These groups meet in clusters all over campus on Thursday Nights at 7. Our “Small groups, with Big Mission,” build like a tight knit family throughout the semester as we study the Word of God together, worship, and apply the gospel to our lives as a God-centered community. Leaders of The Wesley LEAD Team serve as the leaders of these Fusion Cells.
Another outworking of FUN being a core value is seen in the prominent presence of the MAROON PLATOON. This team holds the great honor of being deemed by WT, “The heartbeat of campus.” These students paint themselves maroon, cheer, do the “Haka,” and run the “Buffs” flags at home football games. We can be seen in our very own Maroon Platoon section behind the opposing football team. The leadership of this team is chosen from among the Wesley LEAD team.
We believe that our God is the author of all things AWESOME! We also believe God has created us to be creative. This team is made of artists, film making enthusiasts, graphic designers, and creatives who build short films, the “Wesley Minute” announcement videos, beautiful graphic design, and skillful social media outreach. This team also creates the atmosphere for worship on Tuesday nights at Tupos with light design, sound engineering, and visuals on the screen for our live and our online audiences.
We believe that God still moves through fervent prayer. We also believe that the most powerful thing we could ever do is pray. This team is devoted to praying over students at our worship service, but also throughout the week. We love to watch God do what only God can do as these intercessors soak the campus in prayer.
FUN is a core value at The Wesley. Relationships blossom and true Christian Community grows when we have fun together. This team plans, decorates, and prepares food for events like Freshman Party, dances, open mic nights, and many other events. This team is the “behind the scenes” powerhouse that makes The Wesley such a fun place to be.
We believe that every student is important. Every. Single. One. This team is designed to greet, connect with, and help new guests find their place at The Wesley.
Jesus is at the very center of everything we do. He is our whole purpose for existing. This team is devoted to turning our attention upward by bringing skillful, powerful, prophetic music to the worship experience on Tuesday nights.
